Acoustic Isolation of Night Clubs and Pubs

Nightclubs and pubs are frequently the source of high noise levels requiring carefully considered acoustic treatment. Mason U.K’s products can prevent the transmission of noise and vibration.

Pubs and nightclubs are, by their very nature, frequently loud places; jovial people, sound systems, bands, DJ’s, or a gig and you may suddenly have a very noisy environment on your hands. You may be required by law (or irritated neighbours) to monitor and control the acoustic and vibration levels produced. Mason UK can help; we have extensive experience in isolating these types on environments.

Acoustic Isolation Methods Available

Mason UK can design and supply products to prevent the transmission of noise/vibration through walls, ceilings and floors. We can also design local isolation, e.g. for dance floors and speaker mounts.

A nightclub or pub that products a high noise level may require a ‘Box in a Box’ construction, which will totally isolate a room from the surrounding building structure. Whatever your problem, Mason UK Ltd will produce a bespoke design to solve it. Some typical solutions are listed below.

Ceiling Isolation

A pub may have lower noise levels than a nightclub, but if there are residential living areas above it, or neighbours nearby, it may still require an acoustically isolated mass barrier ceiling.

We would usually recommend suspending an acoustically isolated ceiling using our HDQF hangers. More information on these hangers can be found at the bottom of this page. Other hanger types are available depending on the ceiling type and the acoustic requirements. Click the ‘products’ drop down menu at the top of the screen and scroll down to the relevant option.

Box in a Box Construction

For venues with louder events, we recommend the ‘Box in a Box’ method to achieve total acoustic isolation. This is perfect for nightclubs or very noisy pubs that may be in a residential area.

The acoustic floating flooring is the first element to be constructed. This is lifted to form an air gap and isolated from the existing structure through either LDS rubber (previously neoprene) or sometimes springs. The walls of the structure are built upon this flooring and are only attached to the external walls through our special acoustic wall braces. The ceiling is supported on the walls or suspended from acoustic hangers. For more information on these products recommend, please scroll down to the bottom of the page. Other products can be viewed via the ‘Products’ drop down menu at the top of the screen.

Conclusion

We completed numerous projects for clients with similar needs to those mentioned above. You can view some of these projects in the grey bar to the right. We recognise that each project is bespoke and therefore will create a design best suited to your needs.

Concrete Floating Floors

Floating floors systems are used for many purposes, predominantly to prevent noise passing through the floor but also to isolate against vibration and impact.

L.D.S Rubber Hangers

Acoustic, LDS (Low Dynamic Stiffness) rubber (previously neoprene) hangers can be used for suspending ceilings or mechanical plant.
